2013 Indoor: 4:26.49 (Mile), 8:44.90 (3000m), 15:04.44 (5000m)
Prep: Ran for Coach Bob Degenhardt at Marlington HS… A 4-time All-Stark Country and 3-time all-conference performer in XC… Also earned All-Ohio accolades… Was a 2-time team captain… Marlington won the district title during his junior and senior year… The Dukes qualified for the state meet for the first time in school history his senior season and ran to an eighth place team finish.
Academics: Is majoring in Exercise Science… Compiled a 3.8 high school GPA… President of the National Honor Society… An 8-time scholar athlete… 4-time Academic All-Ohio… Link Crew Leader and Tutor and Marlington HS… Named as the Duke of the Month and Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month… Hopes to continue his running career as long as possible and become a distance running coach at the collegiate level.
Off the Track: Born 3/28/1993… Son of Tom and Tennie Masterson… Father, Tom, played baseball for Malone College from 1983-87, the same years that his mother, Tennie, ran XC and track for Malone College… Has two brothers, Andrew (22) and Zach (16)… Enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, reading, playing video games, watching movies, singing, fishing, public speaking, travelling and eating… Favorite movie is Without Limits… Favorite food is lasagna… Favorite sports team is the Cleveland Cavaliers.
