VB | Croson Signs With Adams State

The senior transfer previously suited up for the University of Hawaii and the University of Arizona

ALAMOSA, Colo. (May 27, 2016) – Adams State University volleyball Head Coach Lindy Mortensen is pleased to announce the signing of outside hitter Jane Croson.

Croson – a senior transfer – joins the program with three combined seasons of NCAA Division I experience at the University of Hawaii and the University of Arizona.

"We are more than excited to have Jane join our team.  She is a great full rotation player that has played elite NCAA Division One volleyball." Mortensen said of her newest signee. "We're glad she chose Adams State to complete her education and eligibility; not only is she a great athlete, but a super nice person with a great family."

In two seasons with Hawaii the Lakewood, California, product registered 731 kills, 561 digs, 68 total blocks, and 62 service aces. Her freshman campaign resulted in Second-Team All-WAC honors along with being named to the WAC All-Tournament team and the Verizon Volleyball Challenge All-Tournament team. As a sophomore she repeated as a Verizon Volleyball Challenge All-Tournament selection and was also named to the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational All-Tournament team.  Her 3.89 kills per set that season ranked fifth in the Big West Conference and helped produce a First Team All-Big West nod.

She compiled 300 kills, 299 digs, 27 total blocks, and 18 service aces with Arizona during the 2013 campaign. That season Croson saw action in 31 matches and 103 sets as she was named to the Arizona Invitational All-Tournament team. As a Wildcat she tallied 13 matches of double-figure kills and nine double-doubles.

Croson's signing was preceded by four other student-athletes inking with the Grizzlies for the 2016 season. Croson joins the ASU recruiting class of Grecia Diaz Martinez, Alexis Gerdes, Hannah Goddard, and Jade Phares.

The volleyball season begins with the 9th Annual Alumni match on August 27th followed by the program's regular season opener against West Texas A&M University on September 2nd from Canyon, Texas.
