ALAMOSA, Colo. (February 4, 2015) -- Head coach Timm Rosenbach (pronounced ROSE-en-bah) and the Adams State University football coaching staff have announced their first-ever signing class for 2015. 

"We are excited to bring these student-athletes in to our Adams State family. This group will contribute to our success in the near future." Said Rosenbach who was officially announced as head coach on December 22. "We will continue to recruit throughout the rest of the contact period to help compliment this already extremely talented class. We are recruiting size and speed and with these athletes we believe we have the speed part of the puzzle handled. Now it's time to find some big kids to clear the way for these guys. We are looking forward to continuing the recruiting process and building the Grizzly Nation."
 
Adams State will continue their recruiting process until the NCAA Division II contact period ends March 9.
 
Members of this year's class are as follows:
 
Matthew Barnes | LB/DE | 5-8, 240lbs. | Monte Vista, Colo. | Monte Vista High School 
Barnes makes the short trip to Alamosa after a successful prep career at nearby Monte Vista High School. At 5-foot-8, 240 lbs. he spent the majority of his time with Monte Vista lined up as a nose guard and offensive lineman. He accumulated 86 total tackles (31 solo) as a junior in 2013. In that season he also tallied three sacks, three fumble recoveries, and five quarterback hurries. Barnes was an All-Conference and All-Valley selection in 2014. He was also named CHSAANow Second Team All-State and Denver Post All-State honorable mention as a senior. As a two-time team captain for head coach Manny Wasinger, the Pirates qualified for the state tournament in 2014 and were state quarterfinalists in 2013. During his sophomore campaign Monte Vista earned a Southern Peaks League Championship. Was also a two-time track & field state qualifier and a wrestling state qualifier. 

Zach Cimaglia | K/P | 6-1, 215 lbs. | Charlotte, N.C. | Myers Park High School | University of South Carolina 
Cimaglia enters the Adams State program after most recently suiting up for the University of South Carolina. With the Gamecocks during the 2014 campaign, Cimaglia saw action in three games and accounted for seven touchbacks. He obtained a season-high four touchbacks against Kentucky. The week prior he accounted for three touchbacks against Missouri. The 6-foot-1 kicker initially began his collegiate career at North Carolina A&T where he dually served as the team's kicker and punter. He connected on 14-of-24 field goals and 25-of-27 extra points for 67 points. He set the school record for freshmen at North Carolina A&T with 14 made field goals. As a senior at Myers Park High School, Cimaglia scored 62 points and made 47 extra points along with five field goals. Recorded 27 touchbacks off a total of 66 kickoffs.

Harrison Cobbs | K/P | 6-0, 200 lbs. | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Doherty High School 
In his senior season for Doherty High School, Cobbs was a First Team selection for the South Centennial League and the Gazette Telegraph. He was also named Kicker MVP for the South Centennial League. The Spartans finished with an 8-2 during the 2014 season as Cobbs made 6-of-7 field goals (long: 41-yards) and 49-of-51 points after touchdown (PAT). He also carried a 40.6 yards per punt average and tallied 42 touchbacks on kickoff opportunities. Also played soccer at Doherty.

Johnny Feauto | QB | 6-1, 180 lbs. | Frederick, Colo. | Fairview High School 
(Video) In three seasons as a quarterback at the varsity level for Fairview (Colo.) High School, Feauto tallied 6,269 passing yards, 61 touchdowns, and a 63 percent completion rate. These numbers were highlighted by setting Fairview single-season records as a senior with 3,953 passing yards and 40 touchdowns. For his senior season efforts he received several postseason individual accolades:

  • First Team All-Colorado selection by The Denver Post
  • MaxPreps Colorado Quarterback of the Year
  • American Family Insurance All-USA Colorado Football Team selection
  • Regional Player of the Year by the Boco Daily Camera
  • Gatorade National Player of the Year candidate


Under head coach Tom McCartney, he registered a 15-3 record as a starter for Fairview. He is also a part of 29 Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) all-time records.  Feauto led the Fairview Knights to a 12-1 record and an appearance in the Colorado 5A state championship game as a junior. As a senior the Knights went 11-1 to claim a Front Range Conference championship and an appearance in the 5A quarterfinals. Was also a four year starter for the Fairview baseball team and a Second Team All-Conference selection as a junior with a .421 batting average. 

Zach Fees | LB | 6-0, 225 lbs. | Fort Collins, Colo. | Fort Collins High School
(Video) In three full varsity seasons with Fort Collins (Colo.) High School, Fees accumulated 237 total tackles (133 solo) and 3 fumble recoveries. In 12 games as a senior he finished with 94 total tackles (62 solo) with 3 tackles for loss, a pass deflection, and a blocked punt. His efforts helped Fort Collins reach an 11-1 record and a trip to the class 4A state playoff quarterfinals. Also played prep baseball for three seasons.

Terrell Flannigan III | WR | 5-8, 158 lbs. | Chandler, Ariz. | Chandler High School 
(Video) The 5-foot-8 Flannigan helped Chandler (Ariz.) High School to a 13-1 overall record as a senior. Flannigan amassed 281 receiving yards on 19 receptions and capped off his prep career as part of Chandler's division I state championship team under the direction of head coach Shaun Aguano.  He also spent time at running back and corner back.
 
Anthony Forte | OL | 6-4, 270 lbs. | San Diego, Calif. | Del Norte High School 
Forte is the second recruit from California to sign with ASU (as of 3/9). Forte played his prep career for Leigh Cole at Del Norte (Calif.) High School. As a senior he was selected and played in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. He was also a First Team All-League offensive selection as a junior. On defense, Forte spent time at defensive tackle as a senior where he collected 16 total tackles and two tackles for loss. 

Lorenzo Galbearth | LB | 5-11, 210 lbs. | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Widefield High School 
(Video) At middle linebacker for Widefield (Colo.) High School, Galbearth collected 34 total tackles (29 solo), 2 fumble recoveries, an interception, and a sack in 6 games. Had his best performance against Vista Ridge High School on 10/17/14 with 14 total tackles (10 solo) and 1 quarterback hurry. Was a part of a 6-4 Widefield team during the 2014 season. Also threw shot put for the Widefield track & field team.

Jesus Gonzalez | OL | 6-4, 295 lbs. | Alamosa, Colo. | Alamosa High School 
Gonzalez makes his way to Adams State after playing football at Alamosa High School. While with the Mean Moose, Gonzalez earned All-Conference and All-Valley recognition as a senior along with the distinction of being team captain. Gonzalez was a member of the varsity team for four seasons. Also played at defensive tackle. 

Nate Henry | RB/LB | 5-9, 185 lbs. | Alamosa, Colo. | Alamosa High School 
Henry joins high school teammate, Jesus Gonzalez, at Adams State for the 2015 ASU football season. Henry was a First Team All-Conference linebacker and running back as a senior and also a Second Team All-Valley running back. As a senior for Alamosa High School, he amassed 1,121 rushing yards and 12 total touchdowns. He added nine touchdowns as a junior while rushing for 614 yards. During his four year prep career, Henry tallied 286 total tackles and surpassed 80+ tackles during three seasons. He also combined for 11 sacks during that span. Was also a three year state wrestling qualifier for Alamosa. 
 
Erik Hildebrandt | DB | 5-11, 173 lbs. | Gilbert, Ariz. | Campo Verde High School 
(Video) As a senior with Campo Verde (Ariz.) High School, Hildebrandt was a First Team All-State selection and the division II defensive player of the year. He received these individual accolades as a result of tallying 87 total tackles (60 solo), 9 pass deflections, 6 interceptions, and 4 caused fumbles in 11 games. He recorded 15 total tackles (11 solo) in a game against Highland (Ariz.) High School on 9/26/14. He also spent time as a wide receiving totaling 105 yards on 6 catches and 1 touchdown.

Matt Jackson | RB/WR | 6-1, 180 lbs. | Rio Rancho, N.M. | Rio Rancho High School 
As a two-way player for Rio Rancho (N.M.) High School, Jackson lined up as a running back and slot receiver on offensive. On the other side of the ball he spent time at outside linebacker. During his senior season, Rio Rancho went 13-0 en route to claiming district and state championships. As a senior, Jackson rushed for 409 yards and tallied 405 receiving yards along with seven total touchdowns. He also registered 59 total tackles (29 solo) and 9.5 tackles for loss on defense. Also competed in track & field and wrestling during prep career. Was a state champion in the long jump and 300 meter hurdles as a junior. 

Brandon Kehl | QB/DE | 6-3, 215 lbs. | Yuma, Ariz. | Gila Ridge High School 
In two seasons at quarterback for Gila Ridge (Ariz.) High School, Kehl passed for 1,567 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also made an impact on the ground as Kehl amassed 759 rushing yards and four touchdowns in 10 games as a senior. He also spent time on defense as Kehl lined up at defensive end during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. He recorded 55 total tackles as a sophomore. 

Joshua Medrano | LB/DE | 6-2, 210 lbs. | Muskogee, Okla. | Muskogee High School 
In two seasons with Muskogee (Okla.) High School , Medrano tallied 130 total tackles (79 solo), 22 quarterback hurries, eight sacks, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. He lined up at both linebacker and defensive end for the Roughers. As a senior he was selected First Team All-Conference, team MVP, and All-Phoenix Prep Team. Medrano was also a two-time Academic All-Conference selection. Also a member of the Muskogee track & field team where he ran the 400m and threw the discus. Intends to major in Business Management at Adams State. 

Jared McElmell | OL | 6-4, 284 lbs. | Tucson, Ariz. | Canyon del Oro High School 
McElmell spent his senior season with Canyon del Oro (Ariz.) High School primarily at left tackle but also spent time on the right side of the line in unbalanced formations. He is the third offensive lineman to sign with ASU for 2015 (as of 2/24). At 6-foot-4 and 284lbs., McElmell anchored an offensive line at Canyon del Oro that finished 9-3 overall and 5-0 in league play. Two-time First Team All-State selection as an offensive lineman. Named First Team All-State honorable mention during his junior season at defensive line. First Team honorable mention at offensive line after freshman and sophomore seasons. Started a total of 40 varsity games for Canyon del Oro. His skill set wasn't limited to only offensive line responsibilities as he also saw time at defensive end. 

Jaray Mills | WR/DB | 5-10, 190 lbs. | Chandler, Ariz. | Chandler High School 
Mills split time on both sides of the ball for Chandler (Ariz.) High School as a wide receiver and safety. During his senior season, Mills racked up 65 total tackles (41 solo) and five tackles for loss during 14 games. He helped guide Chandler to a 13-1 mark in 2014. Defensively he had his biggest game against Mountain Pointe on 11/21/14 by totaling 12 tackles (7 solo). As a receiver, Mills was good for a pair of touchdown receptions which he obtained in a 55-0 rout over Basha on 11/14/14.

Josh Moten | DB | 6-0, 195 lbs. | Carson, Calif. | Narbonne High School | University of Colorado 
Moten (pronounced Moat-un) transfers to Adams State after suiting up for the University of Colorado in 2011 and 2012. Played in a total of 18 games for the Buffs accounting for 11 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Spent a majority of the 2012 season making an impact on special teams (8 tackles, 5 knockdown blocks, 3 forced fair catches, & 2 downed punts). As a prep quarterback at Narbonne (Calif.) High School he was named MVP of the Marine League, MVP in the state championship game, and first-team All-Area as a senior. 

Joe Munroe | DL/OL | 6-1, 290 lbs. | Costa Mesa, Calif. | JSerra Catholic High School 
As a defensive tackle, Munroe collected 38 total tackles (16 solo), 1.5 sacks, and one caused fumble as a senior. He also spent time playing on the offensive line for a JSerra Catholic squad that went 10-2 in 2014. Will look to add depth up front for the Grizzlies this fall. 

Kenney Owens | WR | 6-3, 190 lbs. | Gilbert, Ariz. | Williams Field High School 
(Video) With Williams Field (Ariz.) High School, Owens accounted for 233 receiving yards and three touchdowns as a junior in 2013. Owens, a dual sport athlete, was also a high school sprinter with personal bests of 10.7 seconds in the 100 meter dash and 21.8 seconds in the 200 meter dash. He also served as a kickoff returner for the Black Hawks.
 
 Kyler Sigsbee | QB | 6-2, 210 lbs. | Fort Collins, Colo. | Fort Collins High School 
(Video) As a senior for Fort Collins (Colo.) High School in 2014, Sigsbee threw for 1,559 yards and 16 touchdowns. The right-handed quarterback was equally impressive as a rusher by amassing 1,055 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground. Sigsbee led Fort Collins to an 11-1 record as a senior and an appearance in the class 4A quarterfinal round of the state playoffs. He joins high school teammate Zach Fees as part of ASU's newest class.
 
 Riley Spriggs | OL | 6-4, 258 lbs. | Aurora, Colo. | Grandview High School 
(Video) At 6-foot-4, Spriggs is the lone offensive lineman in ASU's class. Spriggs helped power Grandview High School to a 12-1 overall record in the fall and a perfect 5-0 conference mark. He was coached by John Schultz while at Grandview.

 Maxwell Tuioti-Mariner | OL | 6-4, 315 lbs. | Corona, Calif. | Corona High School | University of Colorado 
Tuioti-Mariner (pronounced two-E-oh-T) joins ASU as a transfer from the University of Colorado. He suited up for the Buffaloes in 2008 and sustained injuries during that season and also in 2009 and 2010. The Corona, Calif. native was ranked as the No. 82 overall player in the nation by PrepStar's  Dream Team as a high school senior and was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American game. Received recognition as a California All-State Underclass Team, First Team All-State, All-CIF Inland Empire, All-CIF Southern California, All-Riverside County, and All-Mountain View League selection during his junior season at Corona High School. It was in that season that Tuioti-Mariner registered 110 pancake blocks and allowed zero sacks. Had a season-high 15-pancake blocks against nationally–ranked Centennial High School. Father (Max Sr.) played collegiate volleyball at UC-Irvine and professional rugby. Other family members to play collegiate or professional football include: older brother (Lafu) at the University of Hawai'i, uncle (Epenesa "Happy" Epenesa) at the University of Iowa, cousin (Pisa Tinoosamoa) with St. Louis Rams, cousin (Aaron Tuioti-Mariner) at Adams State, and cousin (Joey Flores) at Colorado State University.
