DENVER (November 22, 2014) – The Adams State University women's cross country team went 1-2-3 at the NCAA Division II South Central Region Championships en route to claiming the team title with 21 points. ASU dominated as Western State Colorado University, who placed second, tallied a far distant 99 points.

Leading the Grizzlies were Maura O'Brien, Rachel Kresl, and Lauren Martin who were the trio to finish 1-2-3.

O'Brien finished in 22:15 as the top individual medalist and bested Kresl who crossed second with a time of 22:31. Martin took third, also in a time of 22:31, as she was bested by Kresl by the slimmest of margins.  

Adams State controlled the race with a total team time of 1:53:13 en route to the program's third consecutive regional title. It also marks the 18^th regional title for Damon Martin as the women's head coach.

The win secures ASU's spot at the NCAA Division II National Championships on Dec. 6^th in Louisville, Ky.

A total of seven runners for ASU were named to the USTFCCCA All-Central Region team at the conclusion of the race. A complete list of the All-Central Region team is listed below.
